Hello, my name is matt,I'm 19, and im new to to this forum, I have owned my macaw for approx 10 years, we bought my Macaw (Blaze) from a lady that took her from a abused home. Ever since I Brought Blaze to may home she has been biting my father and I for no apparent reason. We had her in our laundry room That was full of windows. Blaze is been perch trained and NEVER sees a cage! She also never liked baths, showers, etc...which is wired. My father fed her toast every morning and we always played with her. Every weekend we took her outside and put her on her favorite tree/bush limb. Also Every night Blaze slept on her perch in my room NEVER staying alone. When she was younger she use to be my alarm clock in the morning. She use to lick my ear till i woke up. When we moved to our new house we had no place to keep her :'( I moved her to my grandmother house. My grandmother made a place for her in her kitchen, which she spends most of her time. My grandmother treats her as one of the family. My grandmother always talks to her and takes her outside. I also go to my grandmothers often to spend time with her. When i moved to college i was worried of how Blaze would react. To my surprise she didnt change one bit and She actually missed my and had not bitten me in the time i was home for Christmas. When i when i came home for summer i couldnt wait to ply with her. For weeks i played with her without getting bitten. Then today When i had her on my chest playing with her, when i felt she had to go to the bathroom i went to pick her up and she pit me the first time and i thought she was playing and the she did it two more times. the only way i could get her off my was put a towel over her. Later I pick her up with no problem off her perch. When i took her into the tv room she became like ravid! I couldnt put my hand near her without her trying to bit me. so I showed her the back of my had so she could see i was not affraid of her and she went after it and pinched the skin........blaze did this time to time in the past.... plz help me I love her Dearly. And i know she loves me too (She try to feed me), and kisses me. Again Plz help me!!!!
